…BECAUSE THERE HAS TO BE A BETTER WAY
Video: Eric Worre, Rise of the Entrepreneur
In the words of Eric Worre… “there’s got to be a better way.” Most people know that the 40/40 Method (40 hours per week for 40 years to retire) is a fable and that today’s employee is much more likely to be fired than retired or burned out along the way. Smart, highly-motivated, intelligent, normally confident, disciplined professionals of good character… are earning decent salaries and working longer hours but they don’t have time to enjoy the fruits of their labor and many traditional employees are exhausted, frustrated, or afraid.
Fortunately a few… have figured a way out. Many are able to keep their regular jobs while building traditional AND non-traditional business. But no matter how one launches their new business or is managing their existing company… they’ve encountered or will encounter challenges that aren’t found in a reference manual or taught in business school.
THE BRUTALITY OF BUSINESS
American boxer and former Heavy Weight Champion of the World, Mike Tyson once said: “Everybody has a plan, until they get punched in the face.” Launching and running a new business (whether full-time OR part-time) on a day-to-day basis is a brutal, full-contact sport and those that survive and thrive in the business arena and in life use coaches and trainers to prepare them for the conditions in which they must compete. Reality Check: Millionaire 101 is not a course that is taught in grad school or in business undergrad courses. Besides, given the velocity of change, what a student learns as a college sophomore will probably be obsolete by their senior year. The net: What you know now is not enough to be successful over the long haul.
